The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is Australia’s first national scheme for people with disabilities.

According to the research report of the Summer Foundation, an authoritative scientific research institution in Australia, the government’s special fund for SDA is expected to subsidize 28,000 people. 

The number is 15,240, with a large number of applicants still on the waiting list. According to the current funding budget, there are still nearly 13,000 eligible people who are still living in government public rental housing, guest houses, nursing homes and other temporary housing, and they are waiting to move into accessible housing.

SDA residences are subject to strict review and registration. 

In government documents, there are strict requirements for the location, type, design and interior facilities of the housing, and must be designed and verified by government-certified professionals.

High and stable rental income, relatively low rental management costs

The rent of the SDA house is guaranteed by the special fund subsidy in the Australian government’s NDIS program funds. 

Moreover, a fixed amount of rent subsidy is provided to the disabled who participate in the subsidy program. 

The subsidized rent will be paid to the government-certified SDA house management agency to undertake the management. 

Lastly, costs, maintenance costs and rent for property owners. Different from many other real estate investments, after the development of SDA housing, it will be operated by a government-certified management agency, which is responsible for occupancy issues and tenant management, and does not need to find an intermediary for management.
